CŪRA Skin | Body | Mind

Created from lived experience. Designed around care.

CŪRA Skin | Body | Mind began with self-advocacy: asking questions, seeking answers and learning to understand a body and mind that did not always feel understood.

After years of owning and operating multiple clinics and spas, our founder’s own health journey brought a deeper perspective to the meaning of care. A late diagnosis of neurodivergence, alongside lived experience of lipoedema and lymphoedema, offered language for challenges that had touched both her physical health and emotional wellbeing.

There were highs and lows, uncertainty and exhaustion, and moments of clarity that changed the way she understood herself. Navigating that maze strengthened her determination to learn, advocate for her needs and help other women feel less alone.

From self-advocacy to being of service

That search for understanding helped shape her decision to return to university, complete her studies in psychological science and continue into a master’s in counselling and psychotherapy. Her continuing education journey also includes the ALERT program and Dr Vodder training for aestheticians, reflecting a commitment to deepening her understanding of lymphatic care and the person receiving it.

Professional experience and personal struggle have shaped a shared purpose: to be of service to women trying to make sense of what is happening to their bodies, and to create space for their questions, experiences and emotions to be heard.

We look at the systems first

At CŪRA, our integrative approach begins with the whole person. We consider how movement, lymphatic health, skin, stress, sensory needs, hormonal life stages and emotional wellbeing fit into a person’s experience, rather than viewing each concern in isolation.

Our vision brings allied health and holistic practitioners together, with each working within their training and scope. Evidence-informed care, appropriate referral and thoughtfully selected wellbeing experiences can support a more coordinated path forward.

Understanding lipoedema. Finding support.

Living with lipoedema can bring pain, tenderness and changes in mobility, as well as emotional challenges. Hormonal changes may play a role, although the exact cause is not yet fully understood.

Lipoedema is a long-term condition with no current cure. Individualised care can help manage symptoms and support quality of life. Education, early recognition and an evidence-based care pathway can help women find appropriate support and make informed decisions about their health.

For our founder, this is personal. CŪRA was created to bring light, comfort and connection to a journey that can feel isolating. We encourage self-advocacy, compassionate care and sustainable self-care alongside support from appropriately qualified health professionals.
